Rubber-Cal’s Pure Gum Rubber is an affordable and eco-friendly elastomer sheeting with high flexibility. This flexible rubber material is naturally sourced from the latex of rubber trees and is free of any synthetic sheet rubber materials. Production of pure gum rubber leaves almost zero waste, allowing for an affordable and eco-friendly soft rubber product. This flexible rubber has a natural tan color that won’t rub off or leave unsightly stains. Because the gum rubber is non-marking, it is ideal for abrasive applications in industrial and commercial settings alike. This natural rubber sheeting generally has a higher rebound rate than its synthetic counterparts, and is best for applications that require high elasticity. The durometer or hardness of pure gum rubber is typically much lower than other synthetic types of rubber. A higher durometer indicates a hard rubber sheeting, while a lower durometer indicates a more soft and flexible rubber. This natural rubber material has a durometer of 40A, giving is a soft surface and excellent pliability. This low durometer is the key feature of Rubber-Cal’s gum rubber, as it has a high tensile strength and can handle a great deal of physical stress without taking damage. Though pure gum rubber doesn’t do well with oils and chemicals, the elastic rubber sheet does have good resistance to organic salts, ammonia, acids, and alkalis. The flexible rubber can also work well in temperatures from -20° to 170° F, making this thick rubber sheet great for industrial applications that require more “bounce back.” For a non-marking rubber with high adaptability, nothing beats natural gum rubber. The high elasticity of gum rubber means that the rubber materials can be stretched and compressed without losing their shape. The soft elastic rubber is great for absorbing impacts, vibrations, and even sounds to allow for a safe and forgiving surface. As a result, this thick sheet rubber performs well in high-impact applications such as natural rubber lining or pads. The elasticity of this 1/4” gum rubber also makes it perfect for delicate applications such as window squeegees or even drum practice pads. Our natural rubber sheets are available in several different gauges to meet the needs of any possible application. This 1/4” natural rubber is one of the thicker options available and works best in abrasive applications. The gum rubber has better resilience than the harder alternatives, even when the flexible rubber is stretched. And due to the natural coloring, this flexible industrial rubber will never rub off or leave residue on sub-surfaces. This natural rubber product is a very pliable non-marking material with great resilience, making it the perfect choice for high-impact applications.
