Our ultimate goal is to enhance resident care and in addition, to assist healthcare facilities in reducing the occurrence of skin breakdown in the bed or wheelchair. This is a bed positioning system that includes an absorbent transfer pad and two vinyl covered, 45 degree foam wedges. The two wedged bolsters support the side-lying resident to offload the coccyx or to provide roll control safety in the bed. The absorbent transfer pad consists of three layers namely, an upper layer of moisture absorbing, comfortable fabric; a middle layer of moisture absorbing foam and a bottom layer that does not allow the transfer of fluids. In particular the bottom fabric is a loop material that allows this product to be mated with the positioning wedges in model No. 555036. Bolsters are covered in durable, wipe-clean vinyl and the pad also serves as transfer aid. The pad can be laundered.
